Original Earthenware Vase
Come to Me brings Dan Baldwin’s recurring floral language into three dimensions, transforming an earthenware vessel into a one-off painted object.
Built up in layers of acrylic, pencil and varnish, the surface combines loose drawing, bold floral forms and fragmented marks with the imperfect tactility of the ceramic itself. The result sits somewhere between painting, sculpture and domestic object — recognisably Baldwin, but with a more intimate and physical presence.
The work’s pale ground allows the colour and hand-drawn detail to remain immediate, while the varnished finish adds depth and brings subtle variation to the surface as the piece catches the light.
